Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

A lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery helps us improve the appearance of the lower eyelids when they have excess skin, appear “crepe” like and especially if they appear puffy, saggy or dark and make you appear tired or old.

Oftentimes, “bags” of the lower eyelids can be the most significant sign of premature aging. A lower lid blepharoplasty is an excellent option to correct the puffiness and skin changes of the lower eyelids to restore their youthful appearance.

A lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery improves the appearance of the lower eyelids when they have excess skin, appear “crepe-like” and especially if they appear puffy, baggy, saggy, too full or too dark. Often there is a protrusion or herniation of fat that Dr. Giese will remove along with the excess skin. Additionally, the lower eyelid should naturally flow into the cheek, and some patients benefit from volumization of the cheek with fat transfer and filler. Dr. Giese will discuss all these potential options with you at your consultation.

Dr. Giese performs lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia and light sedation.  The actual surgery typically takes no more than 60 minutes. The surgery is often “scarless”, with an incision that no one can see. If excess skin needs to be removed, Dr. Giese can take an external approach with extremely subtle incisions. The lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery procedure is long-lasting and rarely has to be repeated. As with upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery our goal is to provide you with results that are so natural that friends, family members and coworkers will simply say, “You Look Great!” without even knowing that you have had eyelid surgery.

To address those puffy, “crepe-like” lower eyelids, book a consultation with Cosmetic & Reconstructive Eye and Facial Plastic Surgeon Isaiah Giese, M.D. by calling 800-325-3937. We can help you refresh your appearance and achieve your goals.
